Hello!  I am Mrs. Heller and I am looking forward to seeing you on the first day of school.  I have enjoyed teaching 'Kindergarten' at Grandview School.  I have been a teacher for many years and I can't wait to show you all the wonderful things we have in our classroom to play with and learn about.  We will be using the "Tools of the Mind" as our curriculum.  We will learn about so many interesting things and have fun too!

Parents, we know that you have so many questions about what to do for the first few days of school, so here are some guidelines...

1.  If you are bringing your child to school, you should have received
information as to where your child's class is located.

If your child comes to school on a bus or van, you will be notified as to
where the bus or van stop will be located.

2.  Please send in something nutritious for our morning snack, such as fruit,
cheese, yogurt, applesauce, pudding or crackers.  Please do not send in
candy or gummy fruit snacks.  Your child can bring in a juice, drink or
water that is in a non-breakable container.  Please send the snack in a
bag or small container labeled "snack".

If your child is going to "After Care", please send in one extra snack for
that program and label it "after care snack".

3.  If your child is bringing in lunch, please send it in a bag or lunch box.
Please write your child's name on the bag or lunch box using a permanent
     marker.

If your child is buying lunch, please send the lunch money in a sealed
envelope with your child's name written on it.  You may also place funds
on your child's lunch account online.  You will receive a monthly menu
from our school about what is being served each day.

4.  Please purchase a large book bag or back pack for your child to bring back
and forth to school.  Please do not send in a small bag, as your child will
need room for all the great things that will be sent home.  Your child will
also need I sturdy, 2-pocket folder labeled with your child's name for their
     homework pages and daily handouts.

5.  Please do not purchase any school supplies such as notebooks or
binders.  We will supply most of the items needed, such as scissors,
markers, paper, crayons, and glue.  There are a few items we are asking
you to donate if you can, these can be found on the Kindergarten Supply
List (tissues, glue sticks, pencils, hand sanitizing gel and plastic Ziploc
     bags).  Thank you!
