Hola!  Bienvenidos!  Welcome back!  For those of you who do not know me, my name is Sra. Bueno and I am the Spanish teacher at Grandview Elementary SchoolI would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of my students to a wonderful school year.  I have been teaching Spanish for almost 22 years and it gives me great pleasure to teach your children.  I look forward to an exciting and fun year!

Your child will learn Spanish through songs, visuals, TPR (Total Physical Response), pair activities, and memorizing basic conversation.   I will make this experience fun and memorable.

First graders:

First grade students will have Spanish once a week for thirty five minutes. During the first marking period the students will review and learn basic introductions, routine conversation, classroom commands, greetings, and numbers 0-10.

Second Graders:

Second grade students will have Spanish once a week for thirty-five minutes. During the first marking period they will review and learn questions and answers to basic conversation, introductions, greetings, the days of the week, months of the year, and colors.

Third Graders:

Third grade students will have Spanish once a week for thirty-five minutes. During the first marking period they will review and learn basic conversation, introductions, greetings, numbers 0-30, the days of the week, months of the year, colors, shapes and sizes.  The students will also discuss what Hispanic Heritage Month is.

Materials needed for class:  The students 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade need a pocket folder.

Helpful suggestion:

The following are some helpful suggestions to help your child practice at home in order to enhance what he/she is learning in Spanish class.

1. Ask your child what they learned in class.

2. Review and practice the basic conversation handout that your child will bring home to study.

3. Encourage your child to have a positive attitude when learning Spanish.

4. For at home practice the students may go to the website:

                     www.123teachme.com

Click onto Spanish for kids and have the students practice numbers, colors, and shapes.

3. Please e-mail me if you have comments or concerns at  [email protected]

I am looking forward to working with your child, and having a really productive and fun year.

Thank you for your support!

¡Gracias!
