     I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Sra. Bueno, and I will be your child’s Spanish teacher this year.  This is my 17nd year teaching Spanish, and have been teaching in Piscataway for of those years.

     It is with great pleasure that I will be teaching your child this year making this a fun and meaningful experience for him /her. This year your child will be having class once a week for 35 minutes. Please see below.
                                                                

First graders:

     First grade students will have Spanish once a week for thirty five minutes. During the first marking period the students will review and learn basic introductions, routine conversation, classroom commands, greetings, and numbers 0-10.

Second Graders:

     Second grade students will have Spanish once a week for thirty-five minutes. During the first marking period they will review and learn  questions and answers to basic conversation, introductions, greetings, numbers 0-20, the days of the week, months of the year, colors. The students will also talk about what Hispanic Heritage Month is.

Third Graders:

     Third grade students will have Spanish once a week for thirty-five minutes. During the first marking period they will review and learn basic conversation, introductions, greetings, numbers 0-30, the days of the week, months of the year, colors, shapes and sizes.  The students will also discuss what Spanish Heritage Month is.

Materials needed for class:  The students 1st, 2nd and 3rd  grade need a pocket folder.

    The following are some helpful suggestions to help your child practice at home in order to enhance what he/she is learning in Spanish class.

      1.  Ask your child what they learned in class.

      2.  Review basic conversation questions and answers  
           handout given to your child to take home.

      3.  Encourage your child to have a positive attitude 
           when learning Spanish.
