Dear Parent/Guardian and student,
Physical activity provides kids opportunities for enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and social interaction.  Increased physical fitness improves heart/lung function, reduces body fat and decreases the risk of disease associated with unhealthy lifestyle
In class this year, children in all grades will learn and continue to refine skills and concepts centered around the following themes:
  • Fitness
  • Body awarness
  • Spatial Awarness
  • Locomotor Movements
  • Effort
  • Rhythmic Skills
  • Jumping and Landing
  • Rolling, balancing and weight transfer
  • Chasing, fleeing, dodging
  • Self assessment and formal assessment
  • Sportsmanship
  • Cooperative skills
Appropriate shoes for class:
Tennis-type/sneaker shoe (flat bottom) with the foot fully covered.
Not appropriate:
Crocs, clogs, dress shoes, boot-like shoes, and any heeled shoe.
